Which personal data does I Walk Around The World process

Below is an overview of the personal data we may process, depending on the products or services you use or receive:

• Address
• City
• Phone number
• Email address
• Company name
• Company address details
• Location data
• VAT number
• Contact history

Other personal data that you actively provide, for example, through registration on our website, in correspondence, or by phone.

• Legal obligations

A small part of our processing is legally required, mainly concerning personal data needed to comply with our tax obligations.

• Newsletters and mailings

Occasionally we send newsletters and/or mailings. Sometimes these are personalized based on certain actions you have taken or products and/or services you receive from us. You always have the option to adjust your preferences for receiving newsletters and mailings.

Automated decision-making

I Walk Around The World does not make decisions based on automated processing (algorithms) that could have adverse effects on you.

Rights of data subjects

• Information and access: of course, you can view which personal data we process about you. We are happy to explain how and why we process that data.

• Erasure: you can request the deletion of personal data we hold about you. For other purposes (e.g., administration or deduplication), we may still need to process that data.
• Restriction: if you believe we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can request a restriction of that processing.
• Objection: you can object to the processing of your personal data. If it concerns marketing, we will stop that processing as soon as possible.
• Data portability: this is a new right under the GDPR to transfer your personal data. If you wish to use this right, please contact us.

Additionally, you can also:

• Withdraw consent: for example, for receiving emails. If you want to withdraw consent for another type of processing, you can contact us at admin@iwalkaroundtheworld.com.
• File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP): if you think we are not complying with privacy legislation, please let us know. You can also file a complaint with the AP.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Personal data may not be retained longer than necessary. The retention period depends on the purpose for which the data was collected and any legal obligations to retain data.

If you requested a quote but did not become a customer, we will delete your data no later than two years after our last contact. Likewise, if we received a quote from you but you did not become a customer, your personal data will be deleted no later than two years after our last contact. If you did become a customer, or we became your service provider, we will retain your personal data for seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you was fully executed. This seven-year period corresponds to the period in which we are required to keep our administration for the Tax Authorities. After this period, we will delete your personal data.

Legal bases for processing:

As explained above, we process some data to comply with a legal obligation, some for the execution of an agreement, and most for the legitimate interest of I Walk Around The World: executing our objectives. Transfer to third parties

In connection with the execution of a possible agreement with you, we may need to provide your personal data to parties that supply products and/or services to us or perform tasks on our behalf. We also use external server space for storing (parts of) our sales and purchase administration, which includes personal data. Your personal data is therefore provided to our server provider.

We have implemented the following measures to secure your personal data:

• Servers and devices of our employees are equipped with up-to-date security software, such as antivirus and firewalls.
• We only transmit your data via secure internet connections (SSL). You can see this in the address bar as ‘https’ and the padlock icon.
• Access to personal data from mobile devices is restricted and actively monitored.

DKIM are internet standards we use to prevent emails sent in our name from containing viruses, being spam, or attempting to capture personal (login) information.
